Dinner Tonight
I am using leftovers from a meal I made a few days ago. On Sunday night I cooked a beef tenderloin. Specifically, I made a dish called Tenderloin De Luxe, which has fast become one of Dee's favorite meals. We could only eat abut half of the tenderloin, so tonight I am going to slice it up into thin strips and add the beef to a mixed greens salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, apples, walnuts and crumbled blue cheese. Now I just need to find a good bottle of vino for this meal...

Deirdre is cooking tonight!
Dee is cooking dinner tonight. So what that really means is that we are ordering take out! We have gotten into the habit of getting chicken wings from the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) on Tuesday night. Our Dutch friends will appreciate why Tuesday night is a BWW night: wings are just 40 cents apiece! Thus, for the tidy little sum of about 12 bucks, we can get 30 wings and dinner is done. We just need to get some celery and a few more oat pops before dinner is served. Also, our friend and fellow foodie Deb will be joining us for dinner so she can meet Samson and to catch the Wings game. Dee an I just had an HD cable box installed, so the hockey game will be crystal clear tonight. Say it with me, "Let's go, Red Wings!"

TONIGHT'S MENU
I am going to make Chicken Breasts with White Vermouth for dinner tonight. I have not cooked this recipe yet, but it looks quite yummy. I will also serve a tossed greens salad, along with some a box of Near East Rice Pilaf. The wine tonight will be a 2005 Esser Chardonnay.
Full report to follow!

INVITATIONS HAVE BEEN SENT!
Friends and Family,
I have sent out invitations to you so you can access this blog, the East of the Equator Cafe. The way it is currently set up, all of you can access the East of the Equator Cafe group in Google (earlier today invitations were sent out from the Google Group). In that group I have uploaded recipes, in PDF format, that you can access and either read on line or print. If you click on the link titled "East of the Equator Group" under the "Recipes" tab in the top left side of this blog you can access this group. I am hoping to populate the group with more recipes that I find and I hope that you do, too! I will also add some suggestions and tips that I have learned as the "Head Chef" for Deirdre all these years. I also would ask that if you have any suggestions to improve this blog or the group, please do not be shy. Share any idea you have as I certainly do not have the "good ideas" market cornered!
